University Life: Day 1
My first day of college was a couple days ago and I was a tightly wound bundle of nerves, but thankfully I only had one class so the transition would be smooth and painless. This class lasted from 8:30 AM until 3:50 PM with an hour and 40 minute lunch break, I had no idea what to expect for the class or for the first day of college. In order to avoid the pain from eating alone, I planned to meet my friends for lunch, my friends who didn't even attend the same university. In my close to two hour lunch I had to run from one building to the next to request a locker, hop onto the northbound subway to get to their school which took me 15 minutes, have lunch and then hop on a southbound train to get back to school all within an hour and 40 minutes, the task may sound simple enough, but it was like I was participating in the Amazing Race. Thankfully, I made it back in time before class at the expense of only eating half of my lunch. After class was let out, it was safe to say, my first day of college was a success and hopefully the year will be a success too ! Good luck to all those starting college, it is definitely an experience ! <3

Ear Candy: G-Dragon~ Coup D'etat
YES! Ayooo G-D is back and ever time he comes back with new music, it is better than ever! With his new music he collaborated with artists such as: Diplo, Missy Eliot, Lydia Paek and more and I personally enjoyed Coup D'etat and the music video to accompany it was interesting to watch. Although I don't speak korean, the lyrics are slick and catchy, I find myself singing, "This is ma coup d'etat," even though I have no idea what coup d'etat means... The beat is pretty catchy also, warning, it may cause some head banging. Now onto the music video, I think the music video was absolutely creative and very artsy, absolutely my style. I like the fact that it was not a video of pointless scenes and had at least a flow in storyline. If you haven't already check out his music video and give his music a listen!

University Life
I have yet to officially start college, but I have been through orientation and I would just like to say, I AM SO TIRED! Since I attend a university close to home I have to commute to school everyday and I have discovered rather quickly it is more lonely than anything. I do not have the luxury of going to the same university with a friend, because I feel as though attending art school is very rare... On days like this when I have nothing to do but worry who I will be with to make my experience better, I envy the fact that my friends have each other when they go to class. Since I knew that being a shy kid wasn't going to make me any friends, I purposely put myself out there to be sociable and it is had gotten me through but it is so exhausting! With the first of class quickly approaching, I am desperate to make some new friends, so wish me luck ! :D

Ear Candy: EXO ~Growl
Our boys are back, and after being wolves, what's next? Yes, growling or like the title of their song, Growl. SM Entertainment just released EXO's 2nd version for Growl, and is it just me or was it a little disappointing? Don't get me wrong, I love seeing their slick moves and handsome selves, but was a 2nd version of this kind really necessary? It is too identical to the 1st version to even be called a 2nd version. Their title song, Wolf which also has two versions of the music video, was simply what a 1st version music video should be and exactly what a 2nd version music video should be! The 1st version showcased the boys dancing skills and while displaying their charming good looks, whereas the 2nd version gave fans a little drama in their life. Despite being let down by the 2nd version of Growl's music video, I am more than elated that EXO are showcasing as one group rather than EXO-M and EXO-K. After their year long promotion of What Is Love apart, it is finally that "Once in blue moon," that allows us to see all 12 boys together! Ahhhhh, I'm in loveeeee !!!!! ♥
If you haven't already, check out the 2 versions of Growl!

Here's to Bright Beginnings
After graduating high school, I didn't believe that college would approach so fast! Well, thats because I didn't even think about college, I was too busy anticipating my first trip abroad! Now that my three weeks and three days vacation has come to a bitter sweet end, I have no choice to look to the fast approaching, new chapter in my life...dun duun duuunnnnn... COLLEGE! I am excited to become an art student, but more than anything I am currently being eaten alive by nervousness. I am one who doesn't have a middle ground; I am either super loud or silent and either I am super crazy or super shy. I become super loud and crazy when I am comfortable, so that means that my closest friends and family see that side of me, however to strangers I am the most shy person you will ever meet. I hope that when college begins, I can get comfortable real fast so that I will be able to make some friends! To all who are embarking on a new journey, HERE'S TO A BRIGHT BEGINNING! ☀

Ear Candy: MYNAME ~ Baby I'm Sorry
MYNAME is bacckkkk and I have to say, I am suppper impressed with their new music video. It is a little gory compared to the standard prim and preppy style of Kpop, but it does not disappoint nonetheless! Watch the music video and tell me what you think !
I liked the fact that through the overall grim and serious mood of the music video, there were comedic parts that created relief. Watching this music video was like watching a 7 minute action movie, complete with a incredible soundtrack and handsome guys! But in the ending, I'm just mad that each and every one of my handsome men had to suffer and ultimately die. </3

Ear AND Eye Candy: B.A.P ~ Coffee Shop
Okay, these handsome boys have done it once again! The perfect vocals, the perfect melodies, the perfect lyrics and of course the perfect boys of B.A.P. I don't know about you guys, but these boys have never let me down, not even once! Nor, do these boys like having their Babys wait, so without further ado, just returning from their B.A.P Live on Earth concert from places around the globe the boys freshly released their song, Coffee Shop. Take a listen and tell me what you think! In the mean time, I will share my thoughts!
Right from the gecko, Daehyun, oh my my, how cute you are! Beginning with any of these boys, I can already tell it's going to be a good, verrry good music video! Oh! But wait! Youngjae...? Is that you...? I'm sorry but the girly hats, gotz to go my manz, you are a handsome guy, so no need to hide behind those girly hats! OOOOHHHH BANG YONG GUK !!!!!! Review: 200 Pounds of Beauty
From my growing list of Asian movies, I am almost certain this was the first I ever watched and I actually loved. So, here's to the first, 200 Pounds of Beauty!
I 100% suggest this movie to anyone who is looking for a romantic comedy that brings you through the transformation of a girl that discovers true love in others and ultimately true love in herself.
This movie was absolutely lovely; complete with a beautiful actress (Kim Ah-Jung) and her magical voice. This movie conveys the message of the power of appearance and inner beauty while keeping the mood of the movie light... most of the time.
The plot of the movie is centered around an overweight girl by the name of Han-na, because of her appearance she is over looked and often used. Since she wants to change the situation she is put in, she undergoes a drastic and full body transformation, but even then she gains enemies.
I 100% suggest this movie to anyone who is looking for a romantic comedy that brings you through the transformation of a girl that discovers true love in others and ultimately true love in herself.

Job Hunting
For the summer, I'm not allowed to be bumming it out, it's a promise I made to myself. Instead, I will be searching for a summer job, well to be exact a four week job because that is all I have of my summer. I started this job quest from the beginning of the school year, and my progress? Still empty handed, whereas my friends who were once in the same boat as me, have jumped ship and found employment. I have applied to places in the mall, to jobs I never would have guess doing (waitressing... stay innocent guys!) and jobs that have been listed for a whole year's worth. I have dressed nicely, printed so many copies of my resume, written so many cover letters, and all I get are praises, but no offers. It has been one week into summer and I am feeling the slump already! It is going to be a lonely four weeks if I don't get a job soon, but the thing is, I am doing everything to my ability, then what is stopping the employers? As always I will have to wait and see. Well for everyone else, rest up and enjoy every single second of summer, because you will be wishing for these moments later! Cheers! <3

Below Average...waay below average.
The average height of an American female is 5'5" give or take, and how tall am I? Not even 5' yet. I never noticed when I stopped growing, but I do know for sure, that I have always had this perspective and talking to people's chest was considered "eye-contact". I never noticed how petite I was until my Baccalaureate mass. For those who have not survived a life-time's worth of Catholic School, Baccalaureate mass is a mass before the graduating class' graduation and it even takes precedence over graduation. For the mass, I played a very important role, the reading of the offertory. For any average person, reading AND being seen is a given, however for me it was a read and do not be seen type if situation. Yes, the podium that I was reading at was even taller than me, great another inanimate object added to the list that I shouldn't stand behind. During the mass, I had to pull out a wooden stool, do my thing and return it to its rightful place, a series of actions that drew many laughter. I found the concept very amusing myself and afterwords it was the highlight of the mass! I do not mind being the height that I am, but it comes with many bad aspects, like getting elbowed in the head, looked over (literally), and needing a stool for everything ! As I start college, I will embrace the fact that talking to people's chest will no longer be "eye-contact" but rather, speaking to their tummies! ;)

Thought of the Day
Being 18, I have already witnessed a heartbreak. I have always worn my heart on my sleeve, but from others, I have kept my heart secure, locked and guarded by a three headed dragon. So what is this heartbreak I speak of? Hard to believe, but one does not need to be in love in order to witness a heartbreak. My bestfriend is in love, however, the one she loves is no longer by her side. She experienced a first love, but she also experienced a heartbreak. As of now, only the negative aspects are surfacing and that is something that breaks me. For all those who have experienced love, know that you are a very lucky and special group of people that exist in this world. You have experienced the most powerful yet destructive force in the universe and that is a blessing in itself. Keep your head up and mend those precious and beautiful hearts. ❤

Ear Candy: Henry ~ Trap
Is is just me or did a solo for Henry of Super Junior M come as a surprise? Don't get me wrong, I welcome a solo for Henry, his smooth vocals, his suave dance moves, his beautiful piano and violin playing and oh, did I mention, that gorgeous face?, but when a company announces a solo act, I automatically think of someone who hasn't been introduced yet. SM Town, played me, they played me well. The teaser pictures they released were so elusive, a guy with a healthy physique, who isn't that in a Kpop world? However, when the person was announced I was far from disappointed, I was the exact opposite of disappointed, whatever that may be... :)
Enough with the chit chat, this song, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, this mini-album, SO SWEET, but the music video, a little less stellar. After setting a date to release Henry's Trap music video, SM Town revoked it and asked for fans patience while they take a little longer to upload a higher quality. What does this do to Kpop lovers, builds anticipation AND expectation. Throughout the music video I couldn't help but criticize and cringe at some of the style choices.
First: That spike headband, sorry my manz, but be above that. With that spike, you are deflating your charming looks for a unicorn horn.
Second: This isn't Henry, but rather, it's Taemin. This boy has grown up so much over the years, he has grown so much, he started to wear dangling spike earrings... Dear, Taemin, stick to stud earrings they look so much better!
Lastly: Henry, you livin' that thug life huh? Do you chain hang low? Yes, you got the overrated gangsta chains, instead let your neck be adorned with arms of fans giving you hugs ! ;D (but I do love the crown fitted!)
Overall the album was really good, some songs became my favorite right away, songs like Trap and 1-4-3, while others are barely working their way to the top of my list. Before you take my word for it, give his mini-album a listen ! <3
Memories
Two days ago I graduated high school, and it seems cliche to say that I remember my first day of freshman like it was yesterday, however that was how it was. On my first day of high school I was terrified and hugging my canvas bag with cutout guitars (I was into my Rock music phase) close to my side. The weeks following freshman year, I was shy and I kept thinking to myself while I was walking to class, "Wow, I'm in high school." Looking back on the previous years it seems surreal to see where I stand now and where I stood before. On the day of graduation, I was sitting in my seat while my fellow classmates, people whom I have spent four precious years with, were being summoned to accept their diploma, I took a trip to memory lane. It is crazy how during the present, events are happening, but later as you dig them out again, they become memories with a whole different feel. My mind is a big jumble right now, but honestly it always is! :) In life, there are no happy goodbyes, only hopeful beginnings. <3

A Guilty Pleasure
I have come to realize that communication knows no boundaries, a sense of understanding and emotion can emit from something as universal as a piece of artwork or as complex as a melody. Wedding Dress by Taeyang, was the first Korean song that I was exposed to and since 2010 my obsession and passion for all things Korean has not only persevered through the years, but it has grown strong. A simple search on the world wide web kindled a passion as hot as the many Korean dishes. From the search of my first Korean song, I was strung along to watch my first variety show among many, to my first Korean drama among a vast sea, to my one and only first concert, which happened to be of a Korean boy band, Big Bang. The life of a Korean Idol has been one of the many things that intrigue me about this culture. My passion for Korea is built from admiration and curiosity, but above all, is the facade of glamour that attracts me. The Korean idols that I admire began their journey from humble beginnings and able to reach many amazing achievements through sacrifice and hard work. It is the gloss of glamour that surrounds the idols and the story that shadows them that fuels my passion for the Korean Entertainment Industry. The beauty of Korea is one that I would like to witness, not through the monitor, rather, with my own two eyes.
