Is is just me or did a solo for Henry of Super Junior M come as a surprise? Don't get me wrong, I welcome a solo for Henry, his smooth vocals, his suave dance moves, his beautiful piano and violin playing and oh, did I mention, that gorgeous face?, but when a company announces a solo act, I automatically think of someone who hasn't been introduced yet. SM Town, played me, they played me well. The teaser pictures they released were so elusive, a guy with a healthy physique, who isn't that in a Kpop world? However, when the person was announced I was far from disappointed, I was the exact opposite of disappointed, whatever that may be... :)
Enough with the chit chat, this song, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, this mini-album, SO SWEET, but the music video, a little less stellar. After setting a date to release Henry's Trap music video, SM Town revoked it and asked for fans patience while they take a little longer to upload a higher quality. What does this do to Kpop lovers, builds anticipation AND expectation. Throughout the music video I couldn't help but criticize and cringe at some of the style choices.
First: That spike headband, sorry my manz, but be above that. With that spike, you are deflating your charming looks for a unicorn horn.
Second: This isn't Henry, but rather, it's Taemin. This boy has grown up so much over the years, he has grown so much, he started to wear dangling spike earrings... Dear, Taemin, stick to stud earrings they look so much better!
Lastly: Henry, you livin' that thug life huh? Do you chain hang low? Yes, you got the overrated gangsta chains, instead let your neck be adorned with arms of fans giving you hugs ! ;D (but I do love the crown fitted!)
Overall the album was really good, some songs became my favorite right away, songs like Trap and 1-4-3, while others are barely working their way to the top of my list. Before you take my word for it, give his mini-album a listen ! <3
